Highlights: TUFTED DUCK, RUFF, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, HOODED WARBLER,
NASHVILLE WARBLER, AMERICAN REDSTART, WHITE-THROATED SPARROW,
SWAMP SPARROW, SLATE-COLORED JUNCO, HARRIS'S SPARROW
Sonoma Co.

On Jan 2, the HARRIS'S SPARROW continues seen again at Petaluma-Adobe
State Historic Park on Adobe Road on the east side of Petaluma.
There were no sparrow by the picnic area. But the bird was found by the
live oak next to the wired fence by the cultivated field, half-way
between the entrance and the small little kiosk station.
On Dec 29, a RED PHALAROPE was seen in a flooded field south of Hwy 121
near the Shellview Railroad Station. (Dave Wimpfheimer)

On Jan 2, a 1st cycle HARLAN'S HAWK and hybrid GADWALL/AMERICAN WIGEON
were seen at the Yolo Basin Wildlife Area. (Matt Brady)
Sacramento Co.

On Jan 2, the RUFF and (2) LESSER YELLOWLEGS were on the west
side of Sherman Island Cross Rd. or Levee Rd. (different names on
different maps; it's the road that comes off of 160 and heads due south)
approximately a mile south of 160 and 1/4 mile north of where the takes
a left turn and heads east. The fields here on the west side have a fair
amount of water in them. (Matt Brady)

On Jan 2, the TUFTED DUCK was seen again at Clifton Court Forebay.
To reach this location, take the Tracy-Byron Highway, turn off at
Clifton Court, go to the end of the road, and turn right onto
the dirt levee (BIG potholes!). The bird has been seen off in the slough.

San Mateo Co.

On Jan 2, a female HOODED WARBLER, female AMERICAN REDSTART, 100's of
Townsend's Warbler, a NASHVILLE WARBLER, SWAMP SPARROW, a SLATE-COLORED
JUNCO and WHITE-THROATED SPARROW were seen along Cascade Creek.
Cascade Creek is north of Ano Nuevo State Preserve or 1 mile south of
Rossi Road along Hwy 1. (Peter Metropulos)
