San Mateo Co.
-------------
On Jan 3, the female HOODED WARBLER continues along Cascade Creek.
Cascade Creek. To find this area go south on Highway 1 about a mile
south of Rossi Rd and look for a single mail box on the right side of
the road. On the left side of the road is the entrance to the K+S Ranch.
About 100 meters south of here (after going over Cascade Creek) on the
left is the entrance to a hidden old road with a gate. One or two cars
could park here. When you get out of your car you will probably
smell the brussel sprouts. Walk past the gate and follow the old road
east through the trees and just past the willows you will see piles of
brussel sprouts on your left. Lots of warblers and sparrows where
feeding on the piles of sprouts. The Hooded Warbler was seen far to the
left by the blackberries and willows at the edge of the open area with
brussel sprouts. This area appeared to be near the creek. (John Luther)

Solano Co.
----------
On Jan 3, SNOWY OWL continues on private property on Grizzly Island.
See CALBIRDS for current directions for access to viewing.
