This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for Thursday, September 15. Please

A PIGEON GUILLEMOT was seen at the Ballona Creek mouth on September 10. On
September 11, two BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were in this area. Access is from
the end of Pacific Ave. in Playa del Rey.

A COMMON GROUND-DOVE was seen flying over the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Area
in Van Nuys on September 12.

A LUCY'S WARBLER and a VIRGINIA'S WARBLER were found along the San Gabriel
River on September 9. Both of these birds were just south of Whittier Blvd.
Access to the bike trail is on the east side of the river at Whittier
Blvd. A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was seen south of Washington Blvd. also on
September 9.

A VIRGINIA'S WARBLER and a BELL'S VIREO were in the willows at the Peck Road
Water Conservation Area (aka Peck Pit) in Arcadia/Monrovia on September 9.
Take Myrtle Ave. about two miles south from the 210 Freeway. The park
entrance is south of Live Oak on the right hand side.

A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at Banning Park in Wilmington on September 10.
Banning Park is east of the 110 Freeway on the south side of the Pacific
Coast Highway.

A PAINTED REDSTART was found at Madrona Marsh in Torrance on September 13.
The bird was in the southwest part of the marsh. Madrona Marsh is at
Sepulveda Blvd. and Madrona Ave.

An ORCHARD ORIOLE was on the east side of the lake at Harbor Regional Park
in Wilmington on September 10. Harbor Park is just west of the 110 Freeway
on the south side of the Pacific Coast Highway.
