Highlights: TUNDRA SWAN, COMMON MERGANSER, FERRUGINOUS HAWK,
PRIARIE FALCON, BALD EAGLE, GREAT ROADRUNNER, LONG-EARED OWL,
BARN OWL, SNOWY OWL, LEWIS'S WOODPECKER, RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROW.
San Benito and Fresno Cos.

On Jan 6, (1) TUNDRA SWAN, (1) BALD EAGLE, (2) AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS,
(150) COMMON MERGANSERS and (2) FERRUGINOUS HAWKS were at various spots
at Paicines Reservoir along Hwy 25. In the Panoche Valley, (2) PRAIRIE
FALCONS and (2) GREATER ROADRUNNERS were seen. A LEWIS'S WOODPECKER
was seen just beyond the road, what use to be a fire station.
At Mercy Hot Springs, (15) LONG-EARED OWLS and a BARN OWL were seen.
RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROWS and ROCK WRENS were also seen around the valley.

On Jan 9, the SNOWY OWL was seen again along the shore of Grizzly Bay
by boat. There is no land access. Contact Capt. Dan Thiemann.
(916-289-8375). He plans to have a trip on Wed at 700am,
Thursday at 800am, Friday at 800am and Saturday at 830am.
