Jason Rogers and Dennis Burns saw 1 CASSIN'S VIREO at North Glenmore Park on
Sept. 12th.



Jim Davis reported 8 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES at Cattleland Slough on Monday,
Sept 12th. Cattleland Slough is located just NE of the junction of Hwy 817
and 564.



There is still a variety of warblers being reported around the city. Jason
Rogers and Dennis Burns saw 1 NASHVILLE WARBLER, 1 PALM WARBLER and 1
TOWNSEND'S WARBLER in Woodcircle in Woodlands in southwest Calgary. Andrew
Slater had one MAGNOLIA WARBLER in his backyard in Oakridge within a mixed
flock of the usual suspects including WILSON'S, ORANGE-CROWNED, and
YELLOW-RUMP WARBLERS.



On Monday, Sept 12, Jim Davis saw 1 PEREGRINE FALCON, and 1 immature
TRUMPETER SWAN fly over the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.



The next scheduled update of the Bird Alert is Monday, Sept. 19.

BIRD STUDY GROUP: Meets the first Wednesday of each month except June thru
August when field trips replace the meetings. Meetings are held in Room 211
of the Biosciences Bldg at U of C. October's meeting will be held on
October 5 at 7:30pm with Brian Elder presenting a talk on Birding Adventures
in China. Kathleen Roman is giving show-and-tell slides.
