The Long-tailed Jaeger at Lake Hartwell in Hart County at the South Carolina
line near Hartwell, GA was last reported on 9/12. It has been seen most
consistantly from the Long Point Recreation area east of Hartwell, from the
dam occasionally and from the Elrod Ferry Recreation Area. To get to Lake
Hartwell got east on US 29 out of Hartwell, GA. Before getting totally out
of Hartwell you'll approach a light where there is a BP station. There is a
sign, partially concealed by vegetation, that says Long Point Recreation
Area. Make a left there and follow the Lake Access signs
and go to the Long Point Recreation Area. Drive all the way to the end to a
little turn around area. Start birding there. It is not known whether or
not the birds is still there, it may be that no one has looked for it
lately. If you do go after this bird please notify the RBA on it's status.

Phil Hardy reported that he and Clyde Rainey had 4 immature American Golden
Plovers on 9/13 in Sumter County near Americus at a farm pond on Lamar Rd.

American Golden Plover was also reported on Cumberland Island by John
Swiderski who reported that Pat and Doris Leary found them during a
shorebird survey on or about 9/11. American Golden Plover is a rare find on
the coast.

Sheila Willis reports a massive roost (approximately 1100 birds) of Chimney
Swifts in Waycross. This is the time of year that Chimney Swifts gather in
large roosts. If you run across one please notify the RBA.

Jenny Michaels of Tucker, Ga in DeKalb County reports that on 9/14 she had a
Rufous Hummingbird at her feeder. She took a phtoto and it confirms it is a
Selaphorous Hummingbird, either a Rufous or Allen's but more probably a
Rufous.

Jim Eager reported for Kevin Calhoon from the Chickamauga National
Battlefield Park on 9/12 a Brewster's Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler,
Blue-winged Warbler and a number of other species of warbler and a Least
Flycatcher.
