Highlights: ROSS'S GOOSE, SMEW, BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, Snowy Owl-not seen,
HARRIS'S SPARROW.
Sonoma Co.

On Jan 26, the HARRIS'S SPARROW was seen again at Petaluma-Adobe State
Historic Park on Adobe Road on the east side of Petaluma. It was seen
near the entrance kiosk near the two live oak trees along the fence line.

On Jan 25, (1 m, 2 f) BARROW'S GOLDENEYES were in the goldeneye
flock near the railroad bridge at teh mouth of the Petaluma
River at the Port of Sonoma. (Mike Parmeter)

On Jan 25, (2) ROSS'S GEESE flew in with the Canada Geese flock
in the lagoon just before the beach along the main trail at
the Salinas River National Wildlife Area. (Ken Schneider)
Tuolumne Co.

On Jan 26, the male SMEW continues in Tuolumne County.
To get to the pond take highway 108 a few miles (about 5?) east of
Sonora to Soulsbyville Road where there is a stop light. Turn right
on Soulsbyville Road and then the first left which is Kings
(right by a store) which ends in about 100 yards at a pond with
the Smew, along with HOODED MERGANSERS. (e-mails)
