junction just SE of Frank Lake, east of High River.
There have been several GYRFALCON reports recently. Don Moore observed a GYR on

junction at 4:00 PM. On Saturday, Feb 3, Terry Korolyk observed a probable
GYRFALCON perched on a powerpole west of Hwy 791 at the SE corner of Chestermere

been a GYR off 88 St SE just north of Hwy 22X SE of Calgary. Dave Elphinstone
observed a dark morph GYRFALCON over Signal Hill in SW Calgary on Sunday, Feb 4.
Three PRAIRIE FALCONS were reported on Sunday, Feb 4. Bill Wilson observed one bird
at 594 Ave & 232 St SE of Frank Lake, while Terry Korolyk observed one bird on Hwy
561 east of Hwy 1, then later observed a bird on the road to Conrich just south of
Hwy 564. Recent SNOWY OWL reports show the birds to be concentrated around Shepard
and Langdon and the interceding areas.
A HARRIS'S SPARROW is successfully overwintering in the Town of Nanton. On
Saturday, Feb 3, Bill Wilson watched the bird in the alleyway west of 23 Ave and
north of 17 St. Marcel Gahbauer reported on Sunday, Feb 4, a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE

Bow River just west of the Crowchild Trail Bridge.
