Highlights: BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, EURASIAN WIGEON, HARLEQUIN DUCK,
EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL, LONG-TAILED DUCK, ROCK SANDPIPER,
RUFF, SHORT-EARED OWL, RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER, MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD.

Sonoma Co.
----------
On Jan 29, a male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was at Shollenberger Park
in Petaluma. (Rich Stallcup)

Marin Co.
---------
On Jan 31 and Feb 3, a female HARLEQUIN DUCK was on Tomales Bay,
along Hwy 1 near the Marconi Conference Center Driveway. A female
LONG-TAILED DUCK was in the cove near Hog Island Oyster. This is
also an excellent spot to see adult (at many as 50) THAYER'S GULLS.
At Rush Creek in Novato, (1) EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL,
(9, 7m, 2f) EURASIAN WIGEON were seen. From Hwy 101, take the Atherton
Ave exit in Novato, go to the east side of the freeway, turn left
on Binford Road. On Feb 4, (8) BARROW'S GOLDENEYE were seen off
of Bolero Road in Bahia. (Rich Stallcup)

Mendocino Co.

On Feb 6, (3) ROCK SANDPIPERS were foraging with surfbirds and
black turnstones on the rocks just off shore at Virgin Creek
Beach in MacKerricher State park. (Dorothy Tobkin)

San Mateo Co.
-------------
On Feb 6, the ROCK SANDPIPER was seen at 1000am during low tide
on the rocks just south of the white house from the end of
Redondo Beach Road. At Princeton Harbor, (3) LONG-TAILED DUCKS were
seen together. There were (2) females and the immature male.
At Venice State Beach. one of the first-cycle GLAUCOUS GULLS was

Sacramento Co.

On Feb 6, the female RUFF continues in the wetland area opposite
the telephone pole with three yellow metals bands on it, along
Sherman Island Cross Rd. or Levee Rd. (different names on different
maps; it's the road that comes off of 160 and heads due south)
approximately a mile south of 160 and 1/4 mile north of where
the takes a left turn and heads east. (Jean Richmond)

Contra Costa Co.

On Feb 6, (1) SHORT-EARED OWL was seen near the intersection of
Byron Hot Springs Road and Holey. (Jean Richmond)

Alameda Co.

On Feb 6, (10) MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRDS were seen at MP 7.52 along
Patterson Pass Road. The RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER continues in the large
oak tree with the picnic table south of bridge at Sunol Regional Park.
