Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 15. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On February 13 a MOUNTAIN PLOVER was at the Medford Airport. The Eugene
FALCATED DUCK and the Alvadore SUMMER TANAGER continue to be seen.

The number of flocks of RED CROSSBILLS are now increasing, especially west
of the Cascades. Waterfowl are now moving about and drifting northward.
SANDHILL CRANES are now increasing on Sauvie Island.

On February 7 a flock of 125 WESTERN SANDPIPERS were at Yaquina Bay. An
EMPEROR GOOSE was on Nehalem Meadows February 11. A TREE SWALLOW was seen
February 10 at Prescott, south of Rainier. Two were at Hagg Lake, south of
Forest Grove the next day. On February 14 a MONK PARAKEET was seen in
northeast Portland. A RED-NECKED GREBE was at the Fernhill Wetlands February
12.

On February 10 a SAGE SPARROW was in Hood River. Another was at the
Prineville Sewage Ponds the next day. A WHITE-TAILED KITE continues to be
seen at the Miller Island WMA south of Klamath Falls. On February 10 three
TURKEY VULTURES were over Klamath Falls. Large numbers of BALD EAGLES are
now concentrating in Wallowa Valley pastures.
