A bird that is probably a SONG SPARROW has been attempting to overwinter at
a property in the Bowness subdivision of northwest Calgary. The homeowner's
property is in fairly well-wooded, has attracted a good variety of other
birds and is on 33 Ave NW on the hill up towards Windsor Plywood. There has
been only one other Song Sparrow report in Calgary this winter season.
SHORT-EARED OWLS are still being reported in good numbers from various
locations east of Calgary. The most recent report comes from Mike Sturk who

between 72 St and RR 283 south of Hwy 22X. He observed a GYRFALCON ON 72 St
