EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS -

This is the Voice of Audubon for Friday, February 16.

The weather being what it has been this week, bird reports have been
few.

The overwintering WILSON'S WARBLER in Nahant has not been seen
since the day of the storm on Wednesday, but the TOWNSEND'S
WARBLER at 6 Laurel Street in Cambridge was still present there
today.

Seen at the Cumberland Farm fields in Middleboro were 4 NORTHERN
HARRIERS, 3 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, 3 AMERICAN KESTRELS,
175 HORNED LARKS, 1 GRAY CATBIRD, and 5 EASTERN MEADOW-
LARKS, and reports from Nantucket this week included 7 CANVASBACKS,
8 HARLEQUIN DUCKS, 1 AMERICAN WOODCOCK, 200 BONAPARTE'S
GULLS, 54 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, 85 ICELAND GULLS, 15
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, 1 DOVEKIE, 1 WINTER WREN, 1
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, 3 HERMIT THRUSHES, and 15 SNOW
BUNTINGS.

Miscellaneous reports this week included a SNOWY OWL and 2 LAPLAND
LONGSPURS at Plum Island, a NORTHERN HARRIER and a PEREGRINE
FALCON in Salem, 1 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW and 35 RED-WINGED
BLACKBIRDS in Danvers, 3 VIRGINIA RAILS in Peabody, a BROWN
THRASHER in Worcester, 2 TURKEY VULTURES in Northboro, a FOX
SPARROW and 18 RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS in Concord, and 16
RUDDY DUCKS and 2 AMERICAN COOTS on the Charles River in
Cambridge.
