Highlights: AMERCAN BITTERN, TUNDRA SWAN, SNOW GOOSE, ROSS'S GOOSE,
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE, WOOD DUCK, BLUE-WINGED TEAL,
EURASIAN WIGEON, BALD EAGLE, SWAINSON'S HAWK, PEREGRINE FALCON,
RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER, SAGE THRASHER, LARK BUNTING, BREWER'S SPARROW,
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE.

Tulare Co.
------------
On Feb 27, three species of Spizella sparrows including CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW and BREWER'S SPARROW were seen near the picnic area of Bartlett
Park, which is off of Hwy 190, east of Porterville. (Al DeMartini)

Mariposa Co.
------------
On Feb 28, two different LARK BUNTINGS were seen between 2990 and 3000
White Rock Road in the large sparrow flocks. Two different SAGE THARSHERS
were seen along White Rock Road, one was 1.1 mile inside the county line
in a dry gulch just beyond a wet gulch. The other was above the junction
with West Westfall. A EURASIAN WIGEON was seen in a pond 6.0 miles in
from the county line. At McCay Road off of Hornitos Road, there were
(2) SNOW GOOSE and a GREAT-WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE, plus a BALD EAGLE.

Tuloumne Co.

On Feb 28, a EURASIAN WIGEON was on a pond on River Rock Road.
Near there, a RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER was seen 2/10 of a mile east of
Green Springs Road. (Al DeMartini)

Calaveras Co.
-------------
On Feb 28, a dark phase SWAINSON'S HAWK was seen on the north side
of Tullock Lake. (Al DeMartini)

Merced Co.
----------
On Feb 24, a field trip to Merced NWR reported (15) MOUNTAIN PLOVERS
in a green field at a distance, a male GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE, a
pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL near the second observation platform,
a BALD EAGLE, PEREGRINE FALCON, a dark morph SWAINSON'S HAWK, and
four blue morph white geese of ROSS'S GOOSE and SNOW GOOSE.
At San Luis NWR, (25) TUNDRA SWAN in three groups, ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW,
(4) AMERICAN BITTERN and WOOD DUCKS were reported. (Ted Chandik)
