This is Dave DeReamus, for the Eastern PA Birdline, sponsored by the Lehigh
Valley Audubon Society, recorded on March 1st at 11:00 PM.
There will be a field trip to Green Lane Reservoir on March 17th. Meet at
the Tilghman Square Parking lot, near the Red Robin restaurant, just west of
Route 309 at 8:30 AM. Trip leader will be Mark Boyd.
The next Audubon meeting will be held on March 13th at 7:30 PM at the Pool
Wildlife Sanctuary in Emmaus. Frank Haas will do a program on Adak, Alaska.
This program is rescheduled for this month after being cancelled last month
due to bad weather.

Sightings from the MARTINS CREEK ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVE (Tekening) area,

Hermit Thrush.
Sightings from PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Northampton County included:

Red-breasted Merganser - 1 on 2/26 and 3/1.

At the Walt Road area:
Pied-billed Grebe - 1 on 2/28
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE - 3 on 3/1
American Wigeon - ~90 on 2/28
Northern Pintails - 144 on 3/1
Ring-necked Duck - ~150 on 2/28
CANVASBACKS - 3 on 3/1
Red-breasted Mergansers - 2 on 3/1.
Also Wood Duck.
Along Knight Road: Northern Harrier.
And, at Knight Lake: Killdeer - 4 on 2/28.
Sightings from PEACE VALLEY PARK, Bucks County included:
Horned Grebe - 1 to at least 2/23
Tundra Swan - up to 8 to 2/22
CACKLING GOOSE - seen during this past week
REDHEADS - 2 at least 2/24.
Also Hooded Merganser, Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, and Field and Swamp
Sparrow.
Sightings from BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, Bucks County included:
LARK SPARROW - 1 to at least 2/26 (still at the Maple Knoll Farm)
LAPLAND LONGSPURS - 2 on 2/26.
Sightings from LAKE NOCKAMIXON, Bucks County included:
Common Mergansers - 420 on 2/28
Red-breasted Merganser - 1 on 2/28
ICELAND GULL - 1 on 2/28.
Also Wood Duck, Hooded Merganser, Lesser Black-backed Gull, and Bald Eagle,
and Hermit Thrush.
Farther afield, a male SCOTT'S ORIOLE has been seen along Kent Drive near
Mechanicsburg, PA from the 19th to at least the 28th. This bird represents
the first record for Pennsylvania and, probably, for the entire northeastern
U.S.!
