Upper Newport Bay, Big Canyon: PLUMBEOUS VIREO and CASSIN'S VIREO on the
16th.
Huntington Central Park: VARIED THRUSH, BLACK AND WHITE WARBLER on the east
side on the 18th, and the continuing NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH on the 19th.
Orange/Olive crossing, Santa Ana River Bike Trail: continuing male AMERICAN
REDSTART on the 17th.
Holy Sepulcher Cemetery (off of Santiago Canyon Rd): a number of sparrow
species (including Lark Sparrow) and two BREWER'S SPARROWS on the 17th.
Mason Regional Park: on the 17th, a Black and White Warbler.
Forbes Road drainage below Crown Valley Parkway: 2 COMMON MERGANSERS
continued on the 17th.
There was also an unconfirmed report of a PYGMY NUTHATCH at Yosemite Park in
south County this week, as well as the continuing HERMIT WARBLER and
PLUMBEOUS VIREO there.
More information on the Nuthatch would be appreciated.
Also this week there were reports of EURASIAN COLLARED DOVE from an apparent
expanding population in Dana Point and one at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
