This is a Rare Bird Alert for Southwestern Ohio (Dayton) for
Friday, March 23, 2007, sponsored by the Dayton Audubon Society.

This week TREE SWALLOWS and EASTERN PHOEBES have been seen throughout
the area.

Observed at Englewood MetroPark on March 23rd were HORNED GREBE,
BUFFLEHEAD, RING-NECKED DUCK, DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT, TREE SWALLOW,
EASTERN PHOEBE, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, PIED-BILLED GREBE and RUDDY DUCK.

On March 22nd a PRAIRIE WARBLER was seen at a residential feeder in
Dayton.

On March 22nd the first egg was observed in the PEREGRINE FALCON'S
nest on the AT&T building.

On March 22nd, seen at Buck Creek State Park near the boat ramp were
WHITE PELICAN, SNOW GOOSE and COMMON MERGANSER.

Seen at Spring Valley Wildlife Area on March 21st were PIED-BILLED
GREBE, WOOD DUCK, TREE SWALLOW, EASTERN PHOEBE, HAIRY WOODPECKER, and
BLACK VULTURE.

On March 20th, SURF SCOTER, HORNED GREBE, and COMMON LOON were
observed at Rocky Fork Lake; while HOODED MERGANSER, LESSER SCAUP,
DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT, and EASTERN PHOEBE were observed at Cowan
Lake.
