Unfortunately, the RED-FACED WARBLER, first found last Wednesday and seen
again last Thursday, was a no show the rest of the week. It was at Canyon
Community Park in Costa Mesa and was seen around the lower parking lot and
the trees along the entrance road along the dirt trail.

Last Thursday at Huntington Central Park there were other interesting
warbler species. A female BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER was found south of the
Island and also " in the sycamores & alders that are across the paved path
from the wetspot of
the island area (toward Gothard)" and was last reported on Sunday,
continuing AMERICAN REDSTART north of the Island, TENNESSEE WARBLER on the
east side?, NORTHERN PARULA (willows near the Island), and continuing
NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH (calling heard from Jack Green Nature Area along with
an INDIGO BUNTING in the same area. A flyover of a PURPLE MARTIN also
occurred at the park on Thursday.

Eurasian Collared Doves continue to be seen at Wagner at Rio Vista in
Anaheim. That's south of Lincoln Street. Seen last Thursday.

Last Friday at the old El Toro Marine Base, probably seen through gate #2
located off of Irvine Blvd between Alton and Pusan, a PRAIRIE FALCON was
observed.

On Saturday at Huntington Central Park a BLACKPOLL WARBLER was seen in the
drainage ditch directly north of the Island Area, and also found that day
only was a GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE (creek crossing directly west of Island
area), and a GRAY FLYCATCHER (southwest corner of lake on west side of HCP).

On Sunday at Bolsa Chica Preserve, north of the tidegates, a (probable)
PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER, probably a continuing individual, was observed. Off
of Harriet Wieder Park a brief sighting of a juvenile RUFF was also made on
Sunday.

On Monday a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was near the lower end of Talbert Park out
in the "Alluvial Woodland", and downstream at the US Army Corps mitigation
site along the east side of the lower Santa Ana River channel about a half
mile north of PCH was a continuing REDDISH EGRET.

Today, Wednesday, at Mason Regional Park a VIRGINIA'S WARBLER was located
near that part where the creek extends to the south... near the apartments.
Also today a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was found at Canyon Community Park (but
again, alas, no Red-faced Warbler).
