VOICE OF AUDUBON Saturday October 24, 2007

A Swallow-tailed Kite was seen over Eastham this morning, but it was not
reported later in the day.

The Townsend's Warbler that over-wintered at 6 Laurel Street in
Cambridge was last reported on Sunday.

Reports from the Salisbury/Newburyport/Plum Island area this week have
included 3 Snow Geese, 1 Barrow's Goldeneye, 8 Northern Pintail, 9
Turkey Vultures, 2 Bald Eagles, 17 Northern Harriers, 4 Rough-legged
Hawks, 1 Merlin, 5 Wild Turkeys, 1 American Coot, 3 Killdeer, 1 Greater
Yellowlegs, 2 American Woodcocks, 2 Short-eared Owls, 2 Snowy Owls, 36
Horned Larks, 1 Tree Swallow, 1 White-crowned Sparrow, 1 Lapland
Longspur, and 21 Snow Buntings.

Seen in Gloucester this week were 1 Redhead, 1 King Eider, 1 Barrow's
Goldeneye, 1 Rough-legged Hawk, 3 Black-headed Gulls, and 1 Glaucous
Gull, and reports from the Cumberland Farm fields in Middleboro included
8 Northern Harriers, 4 Rough-legged Hawks, 31 Killdeer, 3 Wilson's
Snipe, 1 Short-eared Owl, 45 Horned Larks, 6 Fish Crows, 1 White-crowned
Sparrow, 1 Lapland Longspur, and 4 Eastern Meadowlarks.

In Ipswich there were 6 American Wigeon, 16 Northern Pintail, 46
Green-winged Teal, and 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and miscellaneous reports
this week included a Greater White-fronted Goose off Shaw Cove Rd in
Fairhaven, a Bald Eagle in Rochester, an Eastern Phoebe in Mattapoisett,
a Piping Plover in Mashpee, 4 Black-headed Gulls in Barnstable, 12
American Oystercatchers and a Piping Plover at Nantucket, a Glossy Ibis,
an Eastern Phoebe, and a Tree Swallow at the Daniel Webster Sanctuary in
Marshfield, 2 Tree Swallows in Duxbury, a Short-eared Owl in Scituate, a
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 1 Brown Thrasher, and 4 Fox Sparrows at Mount
Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, 18 Wood Ducks and 40 Ring-necked Ducks at
the Great Meadows Refuge in Concord, 3 American Woodcocks in Carlisle, a
Rough-legged Hawk in Essex, 18 Harlequin Ducks in Rockport, a
Red-shouldered Hawk in Newbury, and Ospreys in Rochester, Mashpee,
Barnstable, and Chatham.
