This is a Rare Bird Alert for Southwestern Ohio (Dayton) for
Monday, April 2, 2007, sponsored by the Dayton Audubon Society.

Seen at Englewood MetroPark on April 2nd was an EASTERN PHOEBE, while
a YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was observed at Aullwood Gardens.

On April 1st, 2 OSPREY were seen on the nest near the boat ramp at
Caesar Creek State Park; a GREAT HORNED OWL was observed with young
on a nest at Charlotte Falls; seen at Caesar Creek Gorge Park were
NORTHERN PARULA, BROWN CREEPER, LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH and
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW; seen at Spring Valley Wildlife area were
AMERICAN BITTERN, BROWN THRASHER and a nesting RED-SHOULDERED HAWK;
while a SURF SCOTER was observed on a private Waynesville pond.

On March 31st the Dayton Audubon Society field trip recorded 32
species, including SORA, BLACK VULTURE, SWAMP SPARROW, and RUSTY
BLACKBIRD; and a YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was observed at Eastwood
Park.

Seen at Eastwood Lake on March 30th were RUDDY DUCK, and PIED-BILLED
and HORNED GREBE.

On March 30, a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was seen at Germantown
MetroPark.

On March 28th seen at Eastwood Lake were ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW.
