This is the Voice of Audubon for Monday, April 9.

A RUFF that was found in Newburyport Harbor yesterday was seen there
again
today, and the TOWNSEND'S WARBLER that spent much of the winter at
6 Laurel Street in Cambridge was still present there this weekend.

The loon off Devereaux Beach in Marblehead that was initially
identified as a
Pacific Loon has now been definitively identified as a COMMON LOON
molting from winter plumage to summer plumage.

Other weekend reports from the Newburyport/Plum Island area included
14
SNOW GEESE, 70 GREATER SCAUP, roughly 200 BUFFLEHEAD, 200
COMMON GOLDENEYE, 1 BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, 1 GREAT EGRET,
1 BALD EAGLE, 8 OSPREYS, 8 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 1 ROUGH-LEGGED
HAWK, 5 AMERICAN KESTRELS, 14 KILLDEER, 16 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS, and a very early PARASITIC JAEGER.

Seen in the fields off Scotland Road in Newbury were 1 GREAT EGRET, 6

AMERICAN KESTRELS, 12 KILLDEER, 5 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, the
same RUFF that was seen earlier in the day in Newburyport Harbor, 185
WILSON'S
SNIPE, and 51 AMERICAN PIPITS, and seen coming into an evening roost
at
Kettle Island in Manchester were 50 GREAT EGRETS, 16 SNOWY EGRETS,
3 LITTLE BLUE HERONS, and 3 GLOSSY IBISES.

A report from the Wachusett Reservoir in Clinton and Boylston
included 5 RED-
BREASTED MERGANSERS, 14 COMMON LOONS, 2 PIED-BILLED
GREBES, 2 HORNED GREBES, 4 RED-NECKED GREBES, 1 OSPREY, 2
BALD EAGLES, 1 PEREGRINE FALCON, 4 NORTHERN FLICKERS, 13
EASTERN PHOEBES, 1 COMMON RAVEN, 15 TREE SWALLOWS, and
19 GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS, and at the Great Meadows Refuge in
Concord there were 8 AMERICAN WIGEON, 8 NORTHERN SHOVELERS,
70 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 4 BUFFLEHEAD, 9 COMMON GOLDENEYE,
5 HOODED MERGANSERS, 2 PIED-BILLED GREBES, 2 OSPREYS, 1
NORTHERN HARRIER, 5 AMERICAN COOT, and 80 TREE SWALLOWS.

Seen in Truro were roughly 600 RED-THROATED LOONS, 250 NORTHERN
GANNETS, 1 AMERICAN BITTERN, 1 ICELAND GULL, and 5
NORTHERN HARRIERS, and miscellaneous reports from the weekend
included 3 GREAT EGRETS, 2 SNOWY EGRETS, and 5 GLOSSY IBISES
in Ipswich, a COMMON RAVEN in Boxford, a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER
in Littleton, 1 SNOW GOOSE and 40 WILSON'S SNIPE at Nine-acre Corner
in Concord, a COMMON LOON and HORNED GREBE at Horn Pond in
Woburn, 150 RED-NECKED GREBES and an AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER
in Marblehead, 1 SHORT-EARED OWL at the Daniel Webster Sanctuary in
Marshfield, 14 HARLEQUIN DUCKS in Westport, and 2 LAUGHING
GULLS in Orleans.
