On 4/2 at the Moody Road pond, 1 hen GREEN-WINGED TEAL (MV).

At Schenley Park on 4/3, 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker; on 4/8, Eastern
Phoebe, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 2 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS (KSJ).

On 4/3 at Frick Park, sightings included 2 Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers,
WINTER WREN, NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW (JS and SS); also Eastern
Phoebe (DB). On 4/4, a BLUE-HEADED VIREO was seen (SS). On 4/7, sightings
included BLUE-HEADED VIREO, 3 singing FOX SPARROWS, 1 singing WINTER WREN;
on 4/8, 1 HERMIT THRUSH (SS, KSJ), 1 LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH (KSJ).

At Dashield's Lock & Dam on 4/4, sightings included 14-19 BONAPARTE'S
GULLS (SK); on 4/7, 4 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, 2 Double-crested Cormorants
(MF); on 4/8, 2 COMMON LOONS (MV).

On 4/6 in North Oakland, 5 Chipping Sparrows (LS).

At McKees Rocks Boat Launch on 4/7, 6 HORNED GREBES (MF).

On 4/7 and 4/8 in Highland Park, 2 Chipping Sparrows (LS).


BEAVER COUNTY:

On 4/1 at the Raccoon Creek State Park Wildflower Reserve, sightings
included Turkey Vulture, Great Horned Owl, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker,
Eastern Phoebe, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, WINTER WREN, Eastern Towhee,
Chipping Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco, and others (KSJ). On 4/3 at Raccoon
Creek State Park, 3 Wood Ducks, 1 FOX SPARROW (LC).

At Little Blue Lake on 4/4, sightings included 1 DUNLIN, 31 GREEN-WINGED
TEAL, 5 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 10 AMERICAN WIGEON, 9 GADWALL, 2 BONAPARTE'S
GULLS, 1 NORTHERN HARRIER; on 4/6, 38 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 13 BLUE-WINGED
TEAL, 4 GADWALL, 10 AMERICAN WIGEON, 8 NORTHERN SHOVELERS, 1 American
Coot, 1 BALD EAGLE, 1 BROWN THRASHER; on 4/8, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, GREEN-

In Rochester on 4/4, 3 BUFFLEHEADS and 6 Double-crested Cormorants flying
downriver; on 4/6, 16 BONAPARTE'S GULLS; on 4/8, 14 LESSER SCAUP, 7
BONAPARTE'S GULLS (MV).

At Ambridge Reservoir on 4/6, 4 GREAT EGRETS, 5 COMMON LOONS, 6 Hooded
Mergansers, 3 LESSER SCAUP, 4 HORNED GREBES, 2 Double-crested Cormorants,
1 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, TREE SWALLOWS, 5 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS, 1
BARN SWALLOW; on 4/8, 5 GREAT EGRETS, 2 GADWALL, 1 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 2
AMERICAN BLACK DUCKS, 15 Hooded Mergansers, 4 COMMON LOONS, 8 LESSER

On 4/6 at the Three Rivers gravel ponds, 11 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 5 LESSER

At Hereford Manor on 4/7, 2 OSPREYS, 2 BALD EAGLES, 34 BONAPARTE'S GULLS,
3 RUDDY DUCKS, 2 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 2 BUFFLEHEADS, 4 Pied-billed Grebes, 1
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler, 2 SWAMP SPARROWS, 2
Eastern Phoebes, 7-8 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS, and others (MV).


BUTLER COUNTY:

At Moraine State Park on 4/2, 1 RED-NECKED GREBE was seen (reported to MV
by Debbie Darney); also 1 OSPREY and several TREE SWALLOWS (JS); on 4/7,
BUFFLEHEADS, 1 COMMON LOON, PURPLE MARTINS, 50+ Double-crested Cormorants,
Pied-billed Grebes, 1 HORNED GREBE, Killdeer (MCa); on 4/8, 50-60 RUSTY
BLACKBIRDS, 1 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET (reported to MV by Dave Darney); also a
large flock of TREE SWALLOWS, BUFFLEHEADS, HORNED GREBES, female RED-
BREASTED MERGANSERS, Great Horned Owl, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, probable
FISH CROW (KSJ).

On 4/8 at the Bear Run Boat Launch, pair of LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 22-23
COMMON LOONS, 1 NORTHERN HARRIER, RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, BUFFLEHEAD,
LESSER SCAUP, RUDDY DUCKS, some HORNED GREBES, many BONAPARTE'S GULLS (MV).


CRAWFORD COUNTY:

On 4/2 at Hartztown Marsh, 6 HORNED GREBES, 2 Killdeer, 2 Eastern Phoebes,
3 American Coots (IF).

At Miller’s Ponds on 4/2, 34 GADWALL, 40+ GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 15 GREEN-
WINGED TEAL, 6 Killdeer, 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, 1 AMERICAN BLACK DUCK, 15-20
TREE SWALLOWS, 4 Eastern Meadowlarks (IF).

At Pymatuning Lake on 4/2, 1 sub-adult BALD EAGLE (and 2 more sub-adults
in the surrounding area), 6 COMMON LOONS, 100+ Double-crested Cormorants,
50+ RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, 6 BUFFLEHEADS, BONAPARTE'S GULLS (IF).

On 4/3 in Dempseytown/Two-Mile Run, 3 COMMON LOONS (2 males and a female)
(DL).

In Rockdale Township on 4/5, 2 VESPER SPARROWS (LAR).

On 4/7 at Miller's pond, NORTHERN PINTAILS, GADWALLS, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK,
RUDDY DUCK, WILSON'S SNIPES, 1 pair BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 3 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS, SCAUP SP., RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, AMERICAN BLACK DUCKS (MCa).

At the Spillway on 4/7, 1 male and 8 female RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS,
VESPER SPARROW (MCa).

In Cambridge Springs on 4/8, 2 WILSON'S SNIPE (LAR).


ERIE COUNTY:

At Presque Isle State Park on 4/2, 3 LONG-EARED OWLS; on 4/4, 1 FORSTER'S
TERN; on the morning of 4/5, between 50,000 and 75,000 BONAPARTE'S GULLS
were counted, and among 15,000 other gulls were a GLAUCOUS GULL, an
ICELAND GULL, and 2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS; also present that morning
were 15,000 to 20,000+ RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS (JM). On 4/6, BONAPARTE'S
GULLS still numbered in the thousands, although lower than the previous
day; and among 25,000 to 30,000 other gulls there were 9+ LESSER BLACK-
BACKED GULLS, 5+ GLAUCOUS GULLS, 6+ ICELAND GULLS (JM). On 4/8 from the
Niagra boat launch, 1 RED-NECKED GREBE; the GLAUCOUS GULLS, ICELAND GULLS,
and LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS remained present through 4/8 (JM).


FAYETTE COUNTY:

On 4/2 at Jacob's Creek Lake, sightings included 4 LESSER SCAUP, 2
BUFFLEHEADS, 1 Pied-billed Grebe, 4 American Coots; on 4/5, 2 RUDDY DUCKS,
2 American Coots (MF).


GREENE COUNTY:

In Waynesburg on 4/1, sightings included YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, SWAMP
SPARROW, Killdeer (MHo).


INDIANA COUNTY:

From last week: a report of a WHIP-POOR-WILL heard near Shelocta on 3/27
(reported to MHi by Kurt Dudt).


LAWRENCE COUNTY:

In Plain Grove on 4/2, 3 (2 drakes and 1 hen) NORTHERN SHOVELERS, 2 Pied-
billed Grebes (CM).

At an unspecified location on 4/6, sightings included 5 RUDDY DUCKS, 8
LESSER SCAUP, 2 BUFFLEHEADS, 2 Hooded Mergansers, 1 HORNED GREBE, 3
American Coots, 12 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 1 WILSON'S
SNIPE (MV).


MERCER COUNTY:

On 4/6 in Mercer, PURPLE FINCHES, Dark-eyed Juncos (RS).


SOMERSET COUNTY:

On 4/3 from the Yough Dam Outflow to Ramcat Run, sightings included 7
BUFFLEHEADS (6 hens, 1 drake) (PW).


VENANGO COUNTY:

On 4/3 at Oil Creek State Park, LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH, 1 RED-NECKED GREBE
(present since 3/25) (RS).


WASHINGTON COUNTY:

In the Buffalo Creek area on 4/1, sightings included 3 Yellow-rumped
Warblers, 2 Pied-billed Grebes, pair of GREEN-WINGED TEAL, pair of BLUE-
WINGED TEAL, pair of BUFFLEHEADS, 2 pairs of Wood Ducks, 1 American Coot,
TREE SWALLOWS, NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS, BARN SWALLOWS, Killdeer,
WILSON'S SNIPE, and others; on 4/2, 1 AMERICAN BITTERN (CC).

On 4/5 at the truck stop pond in northern Washington County, 1 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS, 8 WILSON'S SNIPE (MV).


WESTMORELAND COUNTY:

In Washington Township on 4/2, many Eastern Phoebes (DB).

On 4/5 at a farm in Mount Pleasant, ~20 Wood Ducks, pair of GREEN-WINGED
TEAL (JaT).

On 4/7 near Stahlstown, 12 WILSON'S SNIPE, 5 Killdeer, 1 SWAMP SPARROW
(LH).

At the Beaver Run Reservoir on 4/7, 1 flyover OSPREY, Hooded Mergansers,
HORNED GREBE, Pied-billed Grebe, TREE SWALLOWS, Killdeer (SG).
