This is the birding hotline report of the Madison Audubon Society for
Saturday, April 14th. Despite the cold weather migrants continue to
come into the area. Species becoming abundant include HERMIT THRUSH,
BROWN CREEPER, and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER.

The water level at 9 Springs is high, and there are various waterfowl present.

The remaining Madison Audubon field trip this weekend is Scope Days at
Goose Pond Sanctuary in Columbia County. This will be held from 2 to
4 p.m., and scopes will be set up to enable visitors to watch the
waterfowl. To reach Goose Pond from Madison, take Highway 51 north to
Columbia County K. Turn west (left) and proceed until the road turns
sharply left. At that point, turn right instead, go over the hill,
and the sanctuary observation area will be along the driveway on your
left.

Good Birding!
