Golden-winged Warbler
Nashville Warbler
Philadelphia Vireo
American Golden Plover
Baird's Sandpiper
Black-capped Storm Petrel
Brown Noddy
A correction to the last report - I reported the Long-tailed Jaeger had not been
seen since Mon 9/12, it actually has not been seen since 9/11.
At Kennesaw Mountain a Black-billed Cuckoo has been reported, only the second of
this year. It was seen near the top of the mountain between the saddle and the top.
In addition there was one Golden-winged Warbler, one Nashville Warbler, one
Philadelphia Vireo and 11 other species of warbler. They've had some good warblers
at Kennesaw in Cobb County but not good numbers of them yet. It's possible over the
next two weekends, with weather to put them down, that we could still get good
numbers.
Also in the Atlanta area, Carol Lambert reported from Clyde Shepherd Nature
Preserve, formerly known as the South Peachtree Creek Nature Preserve, in Decatur in
Dekalb County, one Golden-winged Warbler seen 9/18 as well as several other
warblers. This small area has turned up some pretty good birds over the years.

On 9/18 Steve Barlow discovered an American Golden Plover and a Baird's Sandpiper on
Brandon Farm Road. From Cartersville, Ga take hwy 113 southwest toward Dunbarton
for 7 or 8 miles. You'll come to Brandon Farm Rd. on the left (if you get to the
community of Scarsborough you've gone too far). Turn left onto Brandon Farm Rd.
and go about 1 mile. On the left will be a large farm pond.
