This is a Rare Bird Alert for Southwestern Ohio (Dayton) for
Thursday, May 10, 2007, sponsored by the Dayton Audubon Society.
Warblers continue to be seen throughout the area.
On May 10th, ACADIAN FLYCATCHER was seen at Englewood MetroPark.
On May 6th, seen during the Aullwood Gardens survey were 51 species,
including YELLOW-THROATED, WARBLING and RED-EYED VIREOS; RED-TAILED
and BROAD-WINGED HAWKS; and 9 species of warblers, including
BLACK-AND-WHITE and BLACKPOLL.
Eighty-six species were observed during the Caesar Creek State Park
survey on May 5th. Recorded were RED-SHOULDERED and RED-TAILED HAWK;
13 species of warblers, including KENTUCKY, HOODED, and
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT; and BONAPARTE'S GULL and COMMON TERN.
On May 5, GREEN HERON, WILLOW FLYCATCHER, and SPOTTED SANDPIPER were
observed at Englewood MetroPark north park, while YELLOW-BILLED
CUCKOO and Eastern Wood-pewee were seen at the main park; and seen at
Hills and Dales MetroPark were KENTUCKY and HOODED WARBLER.
BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was observed at Englewood MetroPark on May 4th.
