This is Dave DeReamus, for the Eastern PA Birdline, sponsored by the Lehigh
Valley Audubon Society, recorded on May 10th at 9:00 PM.

There will be a field trip to Leaser Lake on May 12th. Meet at the Tilghman
Square Parking lot, near the Red Robin restaurant, just west of Route 309 at
6:30 AM. Trip leader will be Fritz Brock.

There will also be a field trip to the Lehigh Canal towpath near
Freemansburg on May 13th. Meet at the Park & Ride Lot at the William Penn
Highway exit of Route 33 at 7:00 AM. I will be leading this trip.

Yellow-throated Vireo - 1 on 5/3.

Sightings from UPPER MOUNT BETHEL TOWNSHIP, Northampton County included:
Northern Harrier - 1 during this past week (along Miller Road).

Sightings from the MARTINS CREEK PPL POWER PLANT area, Northampton County
included:
Peregrine Falcons - 2 during this past week
Bobolinks - seen on 5/5.

Sightings from the ALBERT ROAD PONDS, Northampton County included:
Hooded Merganser - 1 on 5/7.

Sightings from JACOBSBURG STATE PARK, Northampton County included:
Bald Eagle - 1 on 5/2 ('fly-by')
Winter Wren - 1 on 5/6 to at least 5/10
White-eyed Vireo - 1 on 5/6.

Swainson's Thrush - 1 on 5/6.
Also Magnolia Warbler.

Fox Sparrow - 1 on 5/8.

Sightings from BELTZVILLE STATE PARK, Carbon County included:
Snow Goose - 1 on 5/8
Ruffed Grouse - 1 on 5/8
WHIP-POOR-WILL - 1 on 5/4
RED-HEADED WOODPECKER - 1 on 5/10 (SW corner of the picnic area).
Also Green-winged Teal, Lesser Scaup, Red-breasted Merganser, Bonaparte's
Gull, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, American Pipit, Bobolink, White-crowned Sparrow,
and warblers that included Cape May, Hooded, Magnolia, and Blackburnian.

Sightings from the PENN FOREST RESERVOIR area, Carbon County included:
Ruffed Grouse - 1 on 5/3 and 5/4.

Sightings from LEHIGH FURNACE GAP, Lehigh County included:
Worm-eating Warbler - 1 on 5/8.

Sightings from HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP, Lehigh County included:
Along Bake Oven Road: Cerulean and Worm-eating Warbler.
Along Handwerk Road: Horned Lark and Bobolink.
Along Fritzinger Road: Bobolink.

Sightings from LEASER LAKE, Lehigh County included:
Bank Swallow, Horned Lark, Blackburnian and Worm-eating Warbler, Bobolink,
and Vesper Sparrow.

Hermit Thrush - seen on 5/6.

UPLAND SANDPIPERS - 2 on 5/6 and 5/7 (along Homestead Road).

Sightings from the WHITEHALL PARKWAY, Lehigh County included:
Dark-eyed Junco - 1 on 5/4.

Sightings from the ALLENTOWN area, Lehigh County included:
At Cedar Creek Park (Lake Muhlenberg):

Common Shelduck - 1 on 5/2 (most likely an escapee)

LARK SPARROW - last reported on 5/1 (at the Maple Knoll Farm).

Notable birds seen at several sites during this past week included
Double-crested Cormorant, Green Heron, Spotted, Solitary, and Least
Sandpiper, Eastern Kingbird, Great Crested and Least Flycatcher, Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher, Brown Thrasher, Wood Thrush, Veery, Gray Catbird, Baltimore and
Orchard Oriole, Indigo Bunting, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Scarlet Tanager,
Red-eyed, Blue-headed, and Warbling Vireo, and warblers that included Palm,
Prairie, Blue-winged, Nashville, Yellow, Yellow-rumped, Chestnut-sided,
Black-and-white, Black-throated Blue, Black-throated Green, Ovenbird,
Northern Parula, American Redstart, and Common Yellowthroat.
