On 6/10 at Dashields Dam, 21 adult Herring Gulls including a pair with 2
young; 1 COMMON NIGHTHAWK at Edgeworth Commons (MV).
BEAVER COUNTY:
In Beaver Falls on 6/4 and 6/9, female RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD; on 6/7,
male RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD (SB).
On 6/8 and 6/10 at the New Brighton boat launch, 1 AMERICAN BLACK DUCK, 1
American Coot (MV).
At the Beaver Falls Dam on 6/8, 2 Hooded Mergansers; on 6/8 and 6/10, 1
adult COMMON LOON (MV).
CLARION COUNTY:
On 6/6 in the Piney Tract area, sightings included Ruffed Grouse, Ring-
necked Pheasant, NORTHERN HARRIER, WILLOW FLYCATCHER, Northern
Mockingbird, PRAIRIE WARBLER, BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER, CHESTNUT-SIDED
WARBLER, HOODED WARBLER, HENSLOW'S SPARROW, CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, VESPER
SPARROW, Eastern Meadowlark, BOBOLINK, PURPLE FINCH (RN). On 6/9,
sightings included BOBOLINK, PRAIRIE WARBLER, BROWN THRASHER, GRASSHOPPER
SPARROW, EASTERN KINGBIRD, ALDER FLYCATCHER, Eastern Meadowlark, INDIGO
BUNTING, Turkey Vulture, YELLOW WARBLER, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, OVENBIRD,
TREE SWALLOW, BARN SWALLOW, WOOD THRUSH, SCARLET TANAGER, RED-EYED VIREO
(SGo).
CRAWFORD COUNTY:
On 6/3 in Pymatuning, a LEAST BITTERN was heard along S. Watson Road at
Geneva Marsh; also an UPLAND SANDPIPER was seen and heard near Miller's
Ponds (reported to MV by Mike Schall).
ERIE COUNTY:
From 6/1-6/5 at Presque Isle State Park's south pier, 1-2 BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERONS; on 6/8 at Long Pond, small group of SANDHILL CRANES (JM). On
6/9 at Presque Isle State Park, sightings included 5 hen RED-BREASTED
MERGANSERS and 24 CASPIAN TERNS at Gull Point, 1 drake CANVASBACK at
Thompson Bay (MV).
FOREST COUNTY:
On 6/3 near Muzette and Golinza at State Gamelands #24, 2 singing MOURNING
WARBLERS, 1 singing ALDER FLYCATCHER, 1 singing WILLOW FLYCATCHER, 5+
COMMON RAVENS, BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLERS, BLACK-THROATED BLUE
WARBLERS, MAGNOLIA WARBLERS, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLERS, pair of ACADIAN
FLYCATCHERS, singing WINTER WREN, pair of BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS, NORTHERN
ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS, GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER (CW).
LAWRENCE COUNTY:
In New Beaver on the evening of 6/7, there were 7 Hooded Mergansers at the
Three Rivers gravel pond (all hens), and 4 COMMON MOORHENS at the Wampum-
New Galilee Road marsh (MV).
WARREN COUNTY:
At Aekley Swamp on 6/6, 2-4 LEAST BITTERNS were heard, 2 hen and 1 drake
BLUE-WINGED TEAL, many VIRGINIA RAILS, SORAS, MARSH WREN, COMMON MOORHEN,
and others (JF).
WESTMORELAND COUNTY:
On 6/9 at Spruce Flats Bog, 1 PURPLE FINCH, Dark-eyed Juncos, HERMIT
THRUSHES, CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLERS, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLERS, COMMON
YELLOWTHROAT, and others (MF).
Along Wolf Rocks Trail in Forbes State Forest on 6/9, sights and sounds
included YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, LEAST
FLYCATCHER, VEERY, HERMIT THRUSH, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, RED-EYED VIREO,
CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, MAGNOLIA WARBLER, BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER,
BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, BLACK-AND-WHITE
WARBLER, AMERICAN REDSTART, OVENBIRD, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, HOODED WARBLER,
CANADA WARBLER, SCARLET TANAGER, ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, and others (MF).
On 6/9 a WINTER WREN was singing in Linn Run State Park, and along
Hunter's Lane near Donegal an ALDER FLYCATCHER was heard (MF).
In an atlassing area south of Saltsburg on 6/10, BOBOLINKS (SM).
