Carmel:
A CANADA WARBLER was found this morning on the Carmel River about 50m
above the cut over area. The bird was working in the lower story of the
willows and was often near the ground providing good views. [David
McIntyre] This bird was seen by other birders in the afternoon until at
least 5:00pm.
Big Sur:
A hatch year MAGNOLIA WARBLER was banded at Andrew Molera State Park
early this morning. A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was heard along the river, 2
COMMON RAVEN flew overhead and a CALIFORNIA CONDOR IS still hanging
around the ridge line. [Matt Brady]
Seaside:
2 PEREGRINE FALCON have returned to the Embassy Suites on Canyon Del
Rey. They were seen sitting on the sign on the north side of the
building. [Steve Rovell]
Monterey Bay:
Shearwater Journey's reports for 2 trips in windy and foggy conditions
yesterday and today. 3 GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES flew over the wharf
yesterday, a TUFTED PUFFIN highlighted the trip. Today's highlights
included 3 species of JAEGER, SOUTH POLAR SKUA and 10 MARBLED MURRELET
off of Santa Cruz. [Debbie Shearwater]
