Highlights: PRAIRIE FALCON, FERRUGINOUS HAWK, MISSISSIPPI KITE,
PECTORAL SANDPIPER, HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER, PRAIRIE WARBLER, PALM WARBLER.
Tulare Co.

On Oct 8, the MISSISSIPPI KITE was refound 1/2 mile east of the
Tule River on Ave 144th in SW Tulare Co. (Jim Gain)
Marin Co.

On Oct 8, at Abbott's Lagoon in Pt Reyes National Seashore,
(3) WILSON'S SNIPES and (4) PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were seen on the west
shore of the main lagoon. Another PECTORAL SANDPIPER was seen at the
small pond just south of the south end. A CACKLING CANADA GOOSE was
seen with the Ruddy Ducks and Coots. (Bob Battagin)
On Oct 7, a FERRUGINOUS HAWK was seen on the east side of Sir Francis
Drake Blvd between the Mendoza Ranch and the Nunes Ranch at
Pt Reyes National Seashore. A PRAIRIE FALCON was seen from the paved
trail to Chimney Rock. And to the approach to the Lighthouse,
(3) PEREGRINE FALCON were seen. (Ken Arichimbaud)

On Oct 8,a hatch-year male PRAIRIE WARBLER was with Chestnut-backed
Chickadees, Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Townsend's Warblers in the
Red Alders and willows along Pescadero Creek, just past area on the
north side of the creek, where the understory has been cleared out
about a quarter of a mile upstream from the end of Water Lane in
the town of Pescadero. Along Gazos Creek Road at the big pullout
by the dip sign, there was a HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER foraging in the
understory of the creek and later flew up into a Red Alder.

On Oct 7, a PALM WARBLER was seen on the walking trail to the outer
(south) breakwater at Coyote Point. (7) RED CROSSBILLS were seen
at the Skylawn Cementery. A seawatch from Pigeon Point produced
(2) BULLER'S SHEARWATER, (1) POMARINE JAEGER, a pair of
MARBLED MURRELETS and a BLACK SCOTER. (7) BLACK SKIMMERS were at the
usual spot on the waterbird pond at the end of Radio Road in
