On Jul 31, a pelagic trip to the SE Farallon Islands included a
SOUTH POLAR SKUA (15 miles SW of the Golden Gate Bridge),
PIGEON GUILLEMOTS, COMMON MURRES, CASSIN'S AUKLETS, RHINOCEROS AUKLET
and TUFTED PUFFINS. A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen near the Golden Gate

On Jul 26, after further review, the bird reported as a
Little Blue Heron turned out to be a juvenile Snowy Egret.

On Jul 30, a pelagic trip to the Cordell Bank included
(50) BLACK-FOOTED ALBATROSSES, (4) NORTHERN FULMAR, (125) PINK-FOOTED
SHEARWATER, (1) FLESH-FOOTED SHEARWATER, (5100) SOOTY SHEARWATER,
(10) WILSON'S STORM-PETREL, (2) FORK-TAILED STORM-PETREL,
(3000) ASHY STORM-PETREL, (210) RED-NECKED PHALAROPE,
(3) RED PHALAROPE, (1) PARASITIC JAEGER, (2) SOUTH POLAR SKUA,
(25) SABINE'S GULL,(900) COMMON MURRE, (30) PIGEON GUILLEMOT,
(22) CASSIN'S AUKLET, (110) RHINOCEROS AUKLET and (1) TUFTED PUFFIN.
Marine mammels included (7) Humpbacked Whale, (1) Minke Whale,
(18) Baird's Beaked Whale, Dall's Porpoise, Pacific White-sided Dolphin,
five species of pinnipeds and (58) Blue Sharks. (Rich Stallcup)

On Jul 31 1, at Russian Gulch, a female BLACKBURIAN WARBLER was in the
large thicket on the western side of the trail between the parking lot
and the gravel bed. There is a trail through the thicket (the main trail
to the ocean from the porta potty area). At Gualua Regional Park,
there was a MOUNTAIN QUAIL calling in the distance near the logging road
south of the campground. (20)PIGEON GUILLEMOTS and (2)WANDERING TATTLERS
were at the point. A SURFBIRD was at Spud Point in Bodega Bay.
