Lois Stacey reported this afternoon from Lover's Lane in Augusta one and
possibly two YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS. These birds were seen in a mixed
flock in a field across from the Monsanto plant. The site is listed in Giff
Beaton's "Birding Georgia" and is off of I-20 near Augusta.

Jerry Brunner today reported a HENSLOW'S SPARROW from the Johnson's Ferry
Unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The bird was seen
in the field in front of the former raft rental facility. The park can be
reached by driving north on Johnson's Ferry Road from Sandy Springs. It is
located just as you pass the Chattahoochee River on the right. Directions
can also be found in Giff Beaton's "Birding Georgia".

Al Mercer also today reported a HENSLOW'S SPARROW from the Cochran Shoals
Unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The bird was seen
off to the left in the wet field adjacent to the bathrooms halfway between
the Columns Drive entrance to the park and the I-285/Interstate North
Parkway entrance. This site can also be found in Giff Beaton's "Birding
Georgia". The field is very wet and boots are suggested.

Dan Vickers and Bill Lotz today reported a LECONTE'S SPARROW, a VESPER
SPARROW, and a WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW from the Bradley Unit of the Eufaula
National Wildlife Refuge in Stewart Co. This site, located on GA 39 south
of Columbus, also can be found in Giff Beaton's "Birding Georgia".

Brad Bergstrom reported yesterday several winter species and an AMERICAN
BITTERN from Grand Bay, northeast of Valdosta.

Russ Wigh reported a WILSON'S WARBLER, among other species, from Skidaway
Island near Savannah yesterday.

Margaret Harper reported a Rufous-type Hummingbird returning to her backyard
feeder in Valdosta on Oct. 28. Please remember to report any wintering
Hummingbirds to the RBA.
