A white morph GREAT BLUE HERON, typically expected only in extreme S
FL, was seen by Jeff Dixon Aug 6 at a pond in Rome. For directions

From the Titan (formerly East GA) sod farm near Statesboro, Patrick
Brisse reports an early WILSON'S (formerly Common) SNIPE, 25 PECTORAL
SANDPIPERS and a LEAST SANDPIPER on Aug 6. Directions are in Giff

A pelagic trip on Aug 6 went some 65 miles off Tybee Is and was
relatively slow and quite rough. Birds seen incl 11 AUDUBON'S
SHEARWATER, 9 CORY'S SHEARWATER, 2 WILSON'S STORM-PETREL, 2 BRIDLED

LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS have been frequenting the N end of Tybee
Is, Chatham Co, which can be accessed by walking N along the beach

RED KNOTS have been reported in small numbers from several coastal
locations including Gould's Inlet on St Simon's Is and Tybee Is.
WHIMBREL have also been reported from several locations, with as many
as 21 at Bloody Marsh, St Simon's Is seen by Jeff Sewell and Mark

AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS have also been seen on the coast. Steve
Barlow reports 6 at the Jekyll Is welcome center and 5 from the

4 AMERICAN AVOCETS and 6 BLACK-NECKED STILTS were seen on the
mudflats at the end of Andrews Is causeway on Aug 7.

ROSEATE SPOONBILLS have been seen at both Jekyll and Andrews Is
causeways. As many as 15 were seen by Jeff Sewell and Mark Beebe Aug
7 roosting near the Jekyll Is welcome center:

Migration is picking up at Kennesaw Mtn in Cobb Co., though things
are rather dependent on the arrival of weather fronts. Bob Zaremba
reports 8 spp of Warbler on Aug 10 including 4 CERULEAN WARBLERS.
