EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS -

This is the Voice of Audubon for Friday, November 18.

Though no CAVE SWALLOWS were found this week at any of the North Shore
locations they were seen at late last week and last weekend, two were
seen this
morning at Horseneck Beach in Westport.

Two BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were found on Nantucket today, and other reports from
the island included 24 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 26 REDHEADS, roughly 52,000
LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 28 RUDDY DUCKS, 7 PIED-BILLED GREBES, 1
GREAT EGRET, 1 COMMON MOORHEN, 16 AMERICAN COOTS, 2
AMERICAN WOODCOCKS, 1 BLACK-HEADED GULL, 75 BLACK-LEGGED
KITTIWAKES, 38 TREE SWALLOWS, and 27 SNOW BUNTINGS.

A seawatch at Andrew's Point in Rockport on Tuesday produced 1 KING EIDER,
4250 COMMON EIDER, 12 HARLEQUIN DUCKS, 205 BLACK SCOTER,
1150 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 820 RED-THROATED LOONS, 62 COMMON
LOONS, 5 RED-NECKED GREBES, 3100 NORTHERN GANNETS, 6 DOUBLE-
CRESTED CORMORANTS, 26 GREAT CORMORANTS, 75 PURPLE SAND-
PIPERS, 23 POMARINE JAEGERS, 2 unidentified jaegers, 175 BLACK-
LEGGED KITTIWAKES, 13 COMMON MURRES, 4 THICK-BILLED MURRES,
120 RAZORBILLS, 12 BLACK GUILLEMOTS, and 1 ATLANTIC PUFFIN.

Waterfowl noted at Fresh Pond in Cambridge this week included 1 BRANT, 37
CANVASBACKS, 2 REDHEADS, 96 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 7 GREATER
SCAUP, 1 COMMON GOLDENEYE, 35 RUDDY DUCKS, 2 HOODED
MERGANSERS, 1 PIED-BILLED GREBE, and 16 AMERICAN COOT,
and at the Great Meadows Refuge in Concord there were roughly 100 GREEN-
WINGED TEAL, 1 late BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 1 NORTHERN SHOVELER,
14 NORTHERN PINTAIL, 4 REDHEADS, 2 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 1
LESSER SCAUP, 15 RUDDY DUCKS, 1 PIED-BILLED GREBE, 1 VIRGINIA
RAIL, 88 AMERICAN COOTS, 1 MARSH WREN, and 10 EASTERN
BLUEBIRDS.

Miscellaneous reports this week have included a NORTHERN SHOVELER and a
EURASIAN WIGEON at Plum Island, 27 EVENING GROSBEAKS in Royalston,
a CANVASBACK and 16 COMMON MERGANSERS in Millbury, a PINE
SISKIN in Marlborough, a CATTLE EGRET in Carlisle, a LINCOLN'S SPARROW
at Post Office Square in Boston, a VESPER SPARROW in Scituate, a
BALTIMORE ORIOLE in Fall River, and an AMERICAN GOLDEN-
PLOVER in Wellfleet.
