The information on the Rare Birds Map currently comes from the BIRDEAST, BIRDCNTR and BIRDWEST rarebird alert mailing lists of the National Birding Hotline Cooperative

TIPS on using the Rare Bird Map
- Click on an icon to see recent rare bird alerts for that location. Icons are colored according to how recently the information has been updated (see the Legend). When the information box appears, click on a date to see the species mentioned in the alert.
- You can move the map around several ways. First, you can drag the map around by holding down your mouse button. Also, you can double click on any point on the map and that location will be centered in the map window.
